“I build houses.”
That’s all Bill Liggett wrote on his resume when he applied to Texas Classic Custom Homes. It was just one line, but it intrigued us enough to invite him in for a meeting, and we’re glad we did.
He wasn’t exaggerating. That single sentence encapsulates decades of experience. He started building houses at 16 (we won’t do the math!), and by the time he finished high school, he’d already launched his first of several construction companies. Since then, he estimates he has helped build more than 500 houses in his career.
As the Designer and Superintendent at Texas Classic Custom Homes, Bill manages schedules, recruits teams, launches projects, and handles both design creation and hands-on carpentry.
Bill’s wide range of skills allow for him to take on an equally vast array of projects. To provide homeowners with the personal and custom aspects of their dream home, Bill takes on the intricate, technical design work that the average carpenter just won’t do. He loves the opportunity to do something out of the ordinary, because it allows him to combine his carpentry skills and creativity to create something truly original.
More than the job.
A true builder at heart, Bill has also proven adept at building a community from the people he works with. The Kansas native has become known for forming meaningful relationships with homeowners on the job that frequently turn into friendships. In fact, a decent portion of the social circle he’s made for himself here in Central Texas is made up of former clients.
But for all his professional achievements, Bill’s proudest accomplishments are personal. He’s incredibly proud of his children, all of whom he raised to be good, successful people. A Christian and a musician at heart, Bill played bass guitar and sang lead vocals in a band in his 20s. Later, he married those two loves by becoming the leader of the worship band at his local church.
One of the reasons Bill loves working with Texas Classic Custom Homes so much is that he has the opportunity to pour that creativity into both the design and construction of our clients’ custom homes.
We like to say that homeowners working with Bill and the rest of the Texas Classic Custom Homes family not only leave with a beautiful, personalized home, but also an invitation to join a welcoming community of hardworking, personable individuals.
